My older brother and I grew up in Bradenton, Florida until
my Dad decided to leave the life of kitchen cabinet building to become a pastor
when I was nine. We moved to Atlanta, Georgia so that he could attend Columbia
Theological Seminary. My Dad became a minister in the Presbyterian (USA) denomination
where he still serves as pastor of small church in rural Virginia. I first felt
called towards ministry as a junior in high school and attended Montreat
College to pursue that call, getting a degree in Youth Ministry and Christian
Education. The year after I graduated Montreat I met my wife, Sarah, and we
were married about two and a half years later. My plan since graduating College
was to go to seminary to get an MDiv degree but it took me some time to get
there. God led Sarah and I to Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Raleigh, North
Carolina where I was able to take part in an internship through Reformed Youth
Ministries while Sarah taught third grade in the public schools. After two
years of full time youth ministry at Redeemer God led us to Saint Louis so I
could attend Covenant Theological Seminary. Right now our family consists of
Sarah and I, along with our two friendly cats, but we are currently expecting
our first child, due to come in late November of this year. When she is not
teaching 6th grade full-time at a private Christian school, Sarah
enjoys cooking, baking, and reading. I, on the other hand, like to fill my time
with playing board games and just about any sport available to me.
